Vi har temperaturdata for november fra UAH ved Dr. Roy Spencer. Globalt satellittmålt temperaturavvik fra gjennomsnittlig temperatur (TLT) for januar er +0,12 o C, som er 0,03 ned fra desember 2020 som var på +0,15o C etter den nye justerte gjennomsnittet. Desember i fjor var på +0,27o C i gammel skala. Pausen i signifikant global oppvarming som er beskrevet i FNs klimapanels siste hovedrapport fra 2013 er fortsatt reell. Vi viser til januar måned (2019) for informasjon om hvordan FNs klimapanel redefinerer hvordan man beregner klimaet. For informasjon om værfenomenet ENSO (El Niño og La Niña), se Klimanytt120.
Denne gangen er altså den gjennomsnittlige temperaturen beregnet ut i fra perioden 1991-2020, mot tidligere 1981-2010. Denne endringen påvirker ikke temperaturens trender. Justeringen er gjort fordi klima er de endringer man ser over en periode på minimum 30 år.
Den lineære trenden siden januar 1979 er fremdeles +0,14o C pr. 10-år, med henholdsvis +0,12o C pr. 10-år over havene og +0,18o C pr. 10-år over land.
