Kronikk forfattet av professor Einar Sletten for Bergens Tidende, og refusert av avisen med følgende oppsiktsvekkende begrunnelse fra journalist Jon Tufto «VI TRYKKER SOM HOVEDREGEL IKKE SÅKALTE KLIMASKEPTISKE INNLEGG I BT».
Teksten under Slettens kronikk er forfattet av redaktør Geir Aaslid. Der får vi bekreftet at den redaksjonelle hovedlinjen i BT er at det skal være en ensretting av klimajournalistikken.
Vi starter med Slettens kronikk, og avslutter med avisens påfølgende bortforklaringer og sjikanøse opptreden samt redaktørens kommentarer til dette.
Ein kan få inntrykk av at dagens debatt om menneskeskapte endringar i klima er av ny dato. Professor Hans von Storch har i ein artikkel i World Res. Rev. (1996) påpeika at over dei siste 1000 åra har folk vore svært opptekne av å knyte klimaendringar til antropogen aktivitet. Ofte blei religiøse element lagt til grunn når unormalt vær oppstod, til dømes, ein lang våt periode i England på 14. hundretalet blei forklart med at det var Guds straffedom for folks livsstil.
Første del av det 20. århundre var prega av ein uvanleg varm periode i store delar av verda. Etter andre verdskrig gjekk vi så inn i ein kald periode. Førstesides oppslag i TIME (1974) og Newsweek (1975) åtvarar om «Another Ice Age» og «The Cooling World» Det blir vist til at«klimatologar er pessimistiske med omsyn til at politikarar kan gjere positive tiltak for å kompensere for endringar i klima. Utan slike planar vil det bli vanskeleg å takle klimaendringar når resultatet blir akutt. Afrika har hatt seks år med ekstrem tørke medan deler av USA og Japan har hatt den verste flaumen på over hundre år». Heldigvis begynte temperaturen å stige på 1980-talet.
FNs klimapanel (IPCC) blei etablert i 1988 og presenterte snart datamodellar som viste at auke i CO2 –nivået kunne føre til dramatisk oppvarming ikkje nedkjøling. Men no viser det seg at temperaturen frå omlag 1998-2012 ikkje har stige i takt med auke av CO2-nivå. IPCC har problem med å forklare denne varmepausen (hiatus). Ein snakkar ikkje lenger om «Global oppvarming» men om «Globale klimaendringar».
Professor Lennart Bengtson er ein av Nordens fremste klimaekspertar. Han var forskar ved Max Planck-instituttet i Hamburg og har stått for utvikling av klimamodellar som m.a. IPCC bygger sine konklusjonar og anbefalingar på. Gjennom åra har han alltid avdramatisert dei mange alarmerande innspel frå beregnings-modellane. Han slår fast at dei har store svakheiter, klima har alltid variert, og i to tredeler av sin eksistens har kloden vore 7 °C varmare enn no. Ein har øydelagt klimadebatten og skapt hysteri, fordi ein brukar vêrhendingar som prov på klimaendringar, t.d. blir kraftige orkanar ofte knytt saman med global oppvarming. Aktivistar og politikarar har teke over klimadebatten. Ein må slutte med heile tida å bruke klimamodellar og i staden sjå på observasjonar av det som faktisk har skjedd (seier han).
Det blir hevda at vi må bruke føre var prinsippet for å sikre vår vestlege velferd. Men kva med utviklingslanda? Ein Kenyansk utviklingsekspert kom med fylgjande krasse kritikk på eit IPCC klimamøte. «Dei rike landa kan tillate seg lukseriøse ekperiment med andre former for energi, medan vi er på grensa for overlevelse. Eg kan ikkje sjå at solpanel vil gi kraft til stålindustri ellerjernbane. Dei kan til nøds drive ein transistorradio. Det som kjem fram frå heile klimadebatten er at nokon er ivrig etter å drepe den Afrikanske draumen om utvikling. Vi har blitt fortald ikkje rør våre ressursar, ikkje rør vår olje, ikkje rør våre kolressursar; det er sjølvmord.» Er det rart at vi har ein flyktningstraum frå Afrika! Det er ikkje klimaflyktningar som kjem, men folk som vil ta del i vår høge levestandard som faktisk er basert på fossil energi. Bjørn Lomborg (Copenhagen Consensus) viser til langt meir aktuelle miljøproblem enn klimaendringar i u-landa: dødsfall relatert til ute- og inneklima samt mangel på vatn og sanitære forhold. Samstundes driv Europa ein omsynlaus «plyndring» i Afrika etter metall som trengst for «det grøne skifte» (vindmøller, el-bilar).
Kvifor trur folk at vi har ei klimakrise i dag? Ein viktig faktor er at mange brukar Wikipedia som grunnlag for informasjon om klima. I 2010 blei det avslørt storstilt juks som omhandla klimaforsking. William Connolley, ein viktig forkjempar for konklusjonen i FNs klimarapport, hadde verv som senior redaktør for klimaspørsmål. Over ein 6-års periode omskreiv han omlag 500 artiklar der innhaldet ikkje stemte heilt med hans syn på global oppvarming. I alt 2000 bidragsytarar i dette feltet blei stengt ute på grunn av avvikande meiningar. Framleis ser vi tydelege spor etter Connolly i Wikipedia. Eit anna moment er internett tilgang. Før vi fekk satelittar kunne vi knappast få vite kva som hende i nabofylket. No får vi daglege skremmande rapportar inn i stova om orkanar, flaum, tørke, skogbrannar, jordskred frå heile verda. Ikkje rart vi får klimangst! IPCC vedgår at det ikkje er nokon klar trend i talet på flaumar og heller ingen trend i orkanar på verdsbasis. Satelittbilete viser at omfanget av forørkning i Sahara har minka, Sahel regionen har blitt grønare. CO2 auke i atmosfæren aukar veksten. Sidan 1930 har kornproduksjonen i verda blitt 5-dobla medan folketalet har auka 3,5 gonger. Dei siste 40 åra har jordbruksproduksjonen auka med 40 %. Problemet er fordeling av mat mellom rike og fattig land. For eit århundre sidan drap klimarelaterte katastrofar 500.000 mennesker kvart år. No, på trass av mange fleire menneske, er dette talet redusert med meir enn 95 prosent!
Det som er sikkert er at det før eller seinare blir slutt på fossil energi (kol, olje, gass). Vi bør difor innføre effektive sparetiltak utan å rasere naturen med vindmøller. På sikt blir vi nok nødt til å satse på kjernekraft slik som i Sverige, Finland og Frankrike.
Klima-ensretting i Bergens Tidende
Redaksjonen fikk tidlig høre fra representanter for den klimarealistiske 65 % – majoriteten på vestlandet at Bergens Tidende var enda mer useriøs enn Aftenposten i all sin klimadekning.
Det er ikke mulig, var vår umiddelbare og hoderistende reaksjon her på østlandet, vant som vi er med daglige doser med uviten, propaganda og andre klimakannestøperier fra Aftenposten, avisen som har gått fra å være legendarisk solid på Egil Sundars tid til å bli en åpen kloakk i vår tid.
Noen tilsendte tekster viste oss at vi tok feil, så vi begynte å følge BT tettere på hva de skrev om klimaet for å finne ut om vi hadde sett unntakene eller hovedregelen. Det tok ikke lang tid før vi skjønte at BT var noe for seg selv når det gjaldt å villede egne lesere.
Som vanlig i alle Schibsted-avisene, så var det mest interessante hva de utelater, nemlig nesten alle de viktigste faktaene: at det foregår en utidig sammenblanding av politikk og vitenskap i klimapanelet, at geologer og solforskere utestenges, at signifikant oppvarming opphørte fra 1998 og at det ikke eksisterer observasjoner som viser at våre utslipp har hatt en virkning på global temperatur. At Paris-avtalen ikke inneholder noen utslippsforpliktelser, at klimapanelets påstand om at minst 50 % av oppvarmingen etter 1950 er vår skyld, bare har støtte fra 0,3 % av klimaforskningen (Cook et al). I klimaensrettingen er det bare tallet 97 % som er akseptabelt og dette terper de på hele tiden.
Omfattende sjikane
BT slapp først til Sletten i et lite intervju som fulgte vanlig prosedyre, noen korte sitater fra det Sletten ville formidle og med det meste klippet vekk, fulgt av en laaaang hale hvor noen fra IPCC-leiren fikk fritt spillerom til å latterliggjøre Sletten samt komme med en rekke påstander som ikke var forankret i troverdig vitenskap.
I dagene derpå fulgte forargede tekster fra ulike naturfaglige analfabeter, først en musiker og så, mer forbausende, en professor i psykologi som befant seg midt i sitt eget ekkokammer hvor hun gruppetenkte til olympisk gullmedalje, ønsket å skrive om månen som en gul ost og i tillegg svevde i den villfarelse at klimaprofitørene ved Bjerknessenteret er det største naturvitenskapelige klimasenteret i Norden.
Man skjønner at de i psykologien ikke forstår at deterministisk klimamodellering på premisser som i beste fall er villedende står fjernt fra naturvitenskapen, men selv en psykolog burde forstå at man skal opptre varsomt i debatten på et fagfelt hvor man selv ikke kan skille viten fra uviten.
Senest ut i skittkastingstevlingen var Stortingsrepresentant Tom-Christer Nilsen (H) som skrev: «Den aldrende professor står igjen med lite injurierende kraft.Mytene ble løftet, fikk lyset på seg, og trollet sprakk.»
Professorene ved UiB er blitt til troll i den offentlige debatten. Den tiden er over, da Høyres Stortingsgruppe var dominert av de med både god folkeskikk og en utdanning som ga solid grunnlag for egne meninger.
Tilsvarsretten praktiseres bare sporadisk ovenfor klimadissidenter i en del medier i Norge, men 20. november ble Sletten aller nådigst innvilget audiens. Her ser man elementer fra kronikken over sammen med presiseringen av hvorfor kjemikompetanse utgjør en del av klimafeltet.
Pinlig for Bergens Tidende
Siden alle som kan ytre seg på fornuftig vis om klimaet som hovedregel er utelukket fra spaltene i BT, så får man heller ikke diskutert redaksjonens manglende respekt for ytringsfriheten i Norge og deres omfattende ensretting av det stoffet som tillates presentert for almenheten i Vest-Norge.
Vår leder Morten Jødal tok derfor tak i dette på sin profil på Facebook, og etter kort tid dukket BTs Jon Tufto opp med en lengre bortforklaring du kan lese ved å klikke på teksten til venstre.
Som man ser ønsker de i BT stor takhøyde, men forutsatt at man befinner seg under taket til profitørene i klimaindustrien. Begrunnelsen for at det skal være slik skaffer man seg ved å spille tobakkskortet, og dette utgjør 90 % av tekstlengden på Tuftos ikke helt oppegående tekst.
Debattantene på Facebook tok raskt poenget. Dette kan ikke forstås på en annen måte enn at BT mener at CO2 er like skadelig som tobakk, og at leserne må beskyttes mot innlegg som avdramtiserer virkningen av antropogene CO2-utslipp på samme måte som de beskyttes mot innlegg som avdramatiserer tobakkens skadelige virkning.
Ukultur i Schibsted-avisene
Det er fortsatt noen få igjen i Schbsted-avisene med et minimum av sosiale antenner, og ganske raskt dukket Frode Bjerkestrand opp i en unnsetningsaksjon som bekreftet at avisen sensurerte – legg merke til at i klimanytalen heter dette faktasjekk. Bjerkestrand er kulturredaktør i BT, og har ansvaret for debattredaksjonens ukultur.
Hans debatt-tekst kan du lese til venstre, og vi ser at han har fått med seg grunnprinsippet om verifikasjon i vitenskapen. Men han forstår ikke at naturvitenskap ikke er et demokrati hvor man ved hodetelling kan avgjøre hva som er riktig (overveiende sannsynlig), til erstatning for å observere i naturen.
Bjerkestrand skriver han er opptatt av ikke å forlede avisens lesere, samtidig som han ikke imøtegår kritikerne som påpeker at det er nettopp det avisen gjør så og si hele tiden – det pågår en klimaensretting i BT og avisen mangler respekt både for ytringsfrihet og vitenskap.
Bukk og havresekk
Bjerkestrand avslutter med en særdeles uspesifisert påstand om at avisen faktasjekker, og siden vi vet hvem BT deler seng med i klimaspørsmål, så kan vi anta at faktasjekken er like genial som den er i Aftenposten. Der bekreftet deres stabssjef sin rolle som ansvarlig for faktafeil, og lot det skinne gjennom at i klimaspørsmål var alt avisens ansatte skrev å anse for fakta, mens det kritikere kom med var faktafeil.
Fra andre journalister i Bergen har redaksjonen fått bekreftet at det i klimaspørsmål er blitt obligatorisk å løpe til Bjerknessenteret for å få vite hva man skal skrive. Mer bukk og havresekk kan det ikke bli.
Kanskje noen med overordnet ansvar i BT kan rydde opp i avisens ukultur?

We would also like to express that most people who find themselves devoid of health insurance are usually students, self-employed and those that are unemployed. More than half from the uninsured are really under the age of 35. They do not really feel they are requiring health insurance since they are young as well as healthy. Their own income is often spent on property, food, and also entertainment.
