Den internasjonale klimaorganisasjonen CLINTEL har sendt et åpent brev til årets klimamøte i Egypt (COP27) med budskap om at alt i år 2030 vil historikere undres over en urealistisk klimapolitikk bestemt av ‘overopphetede’ datamodeller. I stedet må klimaforskningen avpolitiseres og baseres på observasjoner samt nødvendige vær- og klimatiltak. Dette klimanytt gjengir teksten i CLINTELS originalbrev i norsk oversettelse.
CLINTEL er en internasjonal organisasjon med tilslutning fra over 1100 kvalifiserte vitenskapsmenn innen sine fagområder. De har en felles oppfatning om at klimavitenskapen er sterkt politisert med betydelige innslag av pseudovitenskap, feil og urealistiske teorier basert på utilstrekkelige computermodeller.
Kjære eksellenser
I år 2030 vil historikere undre seg over at FN i tidligere tiår foreslo vidtrekkende klimarelaterte tiltak som har feilet totalt i å stoppe global oppvarming, og i stedet har hatt utilsiktede konsekvenser og en negativ påvirkning av velstand og velvære i verden.
De vil undre seg over hvor mange mennesker som på den tiden trodde på en «eksistensiell klimakrise». Krisefortellingen var basert på utdaterte, ‘over-oppvarmede’ computermodeller med bred støtte i mediene. De vil betrakte det som usannsynlig at en senior FN-representant i september 2022 dristig proklamerte at ‘vi eier vitenskapen, og vi mener verden, også gjennom sosiale medier, skal vite det’.
Hvorfor ignorerer FN og IPCC brevene fra CLINTEL (senest 21.10.2021) som påpekte alvorlige vitenskapelige feil i IPCCs 6. store fagrapport? Hvorfor avviste IPCC en åpen debatt om disse feilene? Vet ikke FN at CLINTELs globale nettverk nå omfatter større objektiv, vitenskapelig fagkunnskap enn det IPCC besitter?
De vil undre seg hvorfor verden ikke protesterte høyt ved spredning av overtroen om at klimavitenskapen var fullt ut forstått («Science is Settled» erklærte FN og politikere). Denne overtro ledet beklageligvis til lovgivning som senere har medført helt unødvendige, ‘social engineering’ tiltak (skadebegrensning) med mål om nullutslipp.
Hvorfor ville FN virkelig ikke ønske at verden skulle vite at skadebegrensningstiltakene de foreslo var vitenskapelig sett useriøse og teknisk ugjennomførbare, økonomisk uoppnåelige og til syvende og sist også sosialt uakseptable?
Og hvorfor innrømmet de ikke at skadebegrensningen, til og med i en global skala – som allerede var vist under pandemien 2020 (lavere CO2-utslipp, men like mye i atmosfæren) – ville ha umerkelig effekt på klima?
Og hvorfor ønsket de ikke at verden skulle få vite det faktum at CO2 er essensiell som ‘livets byggekloss’ på jorda? Mer CO2 er uunnværlig for å gjøre kloden grønnere. Samlet sett er det mye større sannsynlighet for at mer CO2 gir fordeler enn ulemper!
De vil også undre seg hvorfor en ekstremt kostbar overgang til variabel fornybar energiproduksjon ble fulgt opp uten å innse at overgangen ville lede til store økonomiske problemer.
Ærlig talt, hvorfor gjenkjente ikke folk at sikker energiforsyning med solpaneler og vindturbiner var teknisk umulig uten fremtidig, tilgjengelig, rimelig priset storskala elektrisk energilagring?
Hvorfor kjente ikke folk til at masseproduksjon av sol- og vindenergi ville skape alvorlig mangel på materialer som kobber og neodym?
Hvorfor ble kraftstasjoner basert på konvensjonelt, fossilt brensel bannlyst, spesielt i Afrika, mens det ikke fantes et sikkert alternativ man hadde råd til? Mye av den alvorlige energikrisen er blitt feilaktig forklart med krigen i Ukraina; realiteten er imidlertid at verdens ledere ikke hadde fremmet investeringer i konvensjonell sikker kraftproduksjon for å opprettholde økonomisk velstand og sosial stabilitet.
Vi er ennå ikke i år 2030, og vi har fremdeles tid til å gjøre nødvendige forandringer. Hva trengs for å gjøre det?
Her er forslagene til dere globale politiske ledere:
- Avpolitiser klimavitenskapen, forkast computermodellene som ikke stemmer med realitetene, fokuser i stedet på klimaobservasjoner av den reelle verden og den senere klimavitenskapens resultater, lytt omhyggelig til objektive innspill fra uavhengige eksperter.
- Forandre klimapolitikken fra meningsløs skadebegrensning til vellykkede tilpasningsmetoder. Skadebegrensning hindres av kostbare tiltak, har aldri reddet et eneste menneskeliv og vil i liten grad påvirke et alltid varierende klima. Tilpasning har vi derimot råd til, den kan bli målrettet og har allerede reddet millioner av menneskeliv. Tilpasning er uten tvil den rette vei i klimapolitikken.
- Invester i utvidelse og etterfylling av verdens olje og gassreserver. Vær realistisk, verden vil fremdeles trenge olje og gass i mange tiår. Samtidig, gi full gass med å utvikle kjernekraft for fremtiden.
Kjære eksellenser, dere møtes på COP 27 i Egypt tidlig i november, tilsynelatende for å fortsette å promotere en forfeilet global klimapolitikk. Det vil være en forbrytelse mot det afrikanske folk å kreve av dem at de skal basere sin energiforsyning på periodisk vind- og solkraft. Det ville skyve mer enn 1.3 milliarder mennesker videre inn i fattigdom. Økonomisk utvikling kan ikke skje uten sikker og rimelig priset energiforsyning.
Afrika må fullt ut benytte fossilt brensel for kraftproduksjon til en overkommelig pris, med fremtidige planer for et nettverk av moderne kjernekraftanlegg. Med mye tilgjengelig, billig energi vil forsyning av rent drikkevann være garantert.
Gå fullt inn for å anvende tilpasset teknologi, spesielt for å produsere ‘skreddersydde’ avlinger (presisjonsjordbruk) og sikre seg mot ekstremvær (risikominimalisering). Som dere vel vet, er det disse tingene som er reelle og øyeblikkelige behov for Afrika.
De ovennevnte punkter er budskapet fra CLINTEL til alle globale politiske ledere som ankommer i sine private jetfly for å delta på COP 27 møtet i luksusstedet Sharm El-Sheikh. Vi ber dere, våre politiske ledere, om å være samvittighetsfulle om de daglige realiteter av knugende fattigdom hos de glemte mennesker som lever på det afrikanske kontinentet i skyggen av deres flyruter.
