En ny studie publisert av universitetet i Alabama Huntsville, de som også driver med satellitt-overvåking av jordens temperatur, antyder at CO2 har langt mindre betydning enn hva som er antatt innen den konsensusbaserte klimaforskningen.

UAH Earth System Science Center klimaforsker PhD Roy Spencer og direktøren ved samme senter, klimaforsker PhD John Christy har brukt 10 år på å utvikle denne en-dimensjonale klimamodellen for å svare på det enkle spørsmålet: Hvor mye oppvarming kan vi forvente av en økning av CO2 i atmosfæren.
Deres siste studie ble publisert i September 2023 i journalen Theoretical and Applied Climatology under navnet «Effective climate sensitivity distributions from a 1D model of global ocean and land temperature trends, 1970–2021.»
Basert på data, ikke teori
Så er ikke dette bare nok en klimamodell som feiler slik som så mange andre? I over 30 år har dusinvis av avanserte klimamodeller basert på den konsensusbaserte hypotesen om CO2, ikke greid å bli enige om et svar. Dagens klimamodeller varierer med en faktor på tre -3- i resultat. Dette er fra 1,8 til 5,8 grader Celsius.
Den store forskjellen er at deres modell er basert på fysiske data og observasjoner av klimasystemene og ikke teoretiske antagelser om hvordan klimasystemet responderer på økning av drivhusgasser. Klimamodellen deres er like fullt basert på hypotesen om at CO2 har en varmende effekt.
Til tross for at de antar at absolutt all CO2 tilført atmosfæren er menneskeskapt, havner de altså i den laveste området for klimasensitiviteten. Dersom det viser seg at mennesker kun står for 50% av tilført CO2 og naturen står for det resterende så halveres også deres resultat. Det betyr at CO2 fra mennesker har enda mindre betydning enn antatt fra alle andre klimamodeller.
