Unormalt vintervær har preget en rekke områder på den nordlige halvkule i februar.
Ekstremkulden i Texas førte til omfattende strømbrudd og vannledninger som frøs i stykker. En lang rekke kulderekorder ble slått. I Dallas ble det målt 15 minusgrader.
Også flere andre amerikanske delstater ble rammet av kulden i forrige uke, og til sammen døde over 60 mennesker.
Samtidig lavet snøen ned i Athen, og både Hellas og Spania fikk noen av de kraftigste snøfallene på flere tiår.
